1.) IMÂN - “The angels carrying the throne as well as those around them, glorify the praises of their Rabb, believe in Him, and seek forgiveness for those who believe. (They make duâ saying) “O our Rabb! Your mercy and knowledge encompasses everything. So forgive those who repent an follow Your path. And save them from the punishment of the Blazing Fire. O our Rabb, enter then into the gardens of eternity, which You have promised them, as well as the righteous ones from amongst their fathers, their spouses and their progeny. Undoubtedly You are the Mighty, the Wise. And save them from difficulties (evils). You have certainly showered Your mercy on the one whom You have saved from difficulties on that Day (of Judgement). This is indeed the greatest success.” (Mumin verse 7-9) 2.) ZIKRULLÂH - “O you who possess Îmân! Remember Allah Ta'ala in abundance and glorify Him morning and evening. It is He who showers mercy on you, and His angels pray for your forgiveness and supplicate on your behalf, so that He may remove you from a multitude of darkness (disbelief, ignorance and sin) into light (belief, knowledge and good deeds). He is always merciful to the believers.” (Ahzâb verse 41-43) 3.) DUÂ WHEN PROCEEDING FOR SALÂH - Rasûlullâh Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “Whoever emerges from his house and proceeds for salâh, reciting the following duâ, then Allâh Ta'ala turns His attention towards him, and seventy thousand angels seek forgiveness on his behalf.” (Ibn Mâjah) اَللّهُمَّ إنّيْ أَسْأَلُكَ بِحَقِّ السَّائِلِيْنَ عَلَيْكَ وَ أَسْأَلُكَ بِحَقَّ مَمْشَايَ هَذَا . فَإِنِّيْ لَمْ أَخْرُجْ أَشَرًا وَّ لاَ بَطَرًا وَّ لاَ رِيَاءً وَّ لاَ سُمْعَةً . وَخَرَجْتُ اِتّقَاءَ سَخَطِكَ وَابْتِغَاءَ مَرْضَاتِكَ . فَأَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تُعِيْذَنِيْ مِنَ النَّارِ وَأَنْ تَغْفِرَ لِيْ ذُنُوْبِيْ . إِنَّهُ لاَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوْبَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ 4.) FIRST SAFF - Rasûlullâh Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “Verily Allâh Ta'ala sends His special mercy and His angels make duâ on behalf of those who perform salâh in the first saff (row).” (Ibn Mâjah)  5.) JOINING OF SAFFS - Rasûlullâh Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “Verily Allâh Ta'ala sends mercy and the angels make duâ for those people who join the saffs (rows). Whoever closes a gap, Allâh Ta'ala will raise him one rank.” (Ibn Mâjah) 6.) SALÂH WITH JAMÂ’AT - Rasûlullâh Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “When the imâm says ‘Amîn’, then say ‘Amîn’. Whoever’s ‘Amîn’ conforms to the Amîn of the angels, all his past sins are forgiven.” (Bukhâri) When a person recites Sûrah Fâtihah, he asks Allâh Ta'ala for guidance. The angels say ‘Amîn’ which means “O Allâh, accept this duâ.” Muhammad ibn Samâk never missed salâh with Jamâ’at for forty years except when his mother passed away. He says, “Because I know that salâh with jamâ’at is 25 times superior, I repeated a salâh 25 times when I happened to miss my salâh with jamâ’at. I was then told in a dream, “Muhammad! Although you have repeated your salâh 25 times, what about the Âmin that the angels say? (when salâh is performed with jamâ’at)” 7.) SITTING AFTER SALÂH - Rasûlullâh Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “Salâh performed in congregation is twenty-five times more superior to performing salâh in one’s home or in the market-place. When one performs wudû properly, fulfilling all its etiquettes, and then proceeds to the Masjid, intending only salâh, then on every step, Allâh Ta'ala raises his rank by one stage, and forgives one sin, until he reaches the Masjid. When he enters the Masjid, he will receive the reward of salâh as long as he is waiting for the salâh. The angels continuously make the following duâ for him, whilst he sits in the place he performed salâh, as long as he does not break his wudû, “O Allâh, forgive him, O Allâh, shower mercy on him.” (Bukhârî)   8.) IBÂDAT OF LAILATUL QADR - Rasûlullâh Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “During the night of Qadr, Jibraîl u comes with a group of angels and they make duâ of mercy for the one who stands or sits remembering Allah Ta'ala (and is involved in worship).” (Shuabul Imân) 9.) SEHRI - Nabî Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “Indeed Allâh Ta'ala sends His special mercy and the angels seek forgiveness and make duâ for those who partake of sehrî.” (Tabrâni, Ibn Hibbân) 10.) DUÂ FOR BROTHER IN ABSENCE - Rasûlullâh Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “When a man makes duâ for his brother in his absence, the angels say, “Amîn, and may you be granted the same.” (Bazzâr) 11.) SPENDING IN CHARITY - Rasûlullâh Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “Every morning, two angels descend. One of them says, “O Allâh, grant the one who spends a better return.” The other says, “O Allâh, destroy the wealth of he who keeps back.” (Bukhârî) 12.) FEEDING OTHERS - Hadrat Aishâh Radiallahu Anha narrates, “The angels continue to make duâ for you as long as your table-cloth is laid out.” (i.e. continue to feed people.) (Kanzul Ummâl) 13.) QURÂN - Hadrat Sa’d ibn Abî Waqqâs Radiallahu Anhu narrates, “When a person completes the Qurân in the first portion of the night, the angels make duâ for him till the morning, and if he completes the Qurân in the first portion of the day, the angels make duâ for him till the evening.” (Daramî) 14.) SURAH DUKHÂN –Nabi Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “Whoever reads Surah Dukhân at night, then seventy thousand angels seek forgiveness for him till the morning.” (Tirmidhi) 15.) DUÂ MORNING AND EVENING- Rasûlullâh Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “Whoever recites thrice in the morning أَعُوْذُ بِاللهِ السَّمِيْعِ الْعَلِيْمِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيْمِ followed by the last three verse of Surah Hashr, then Allâh Ta'ala will appoint seventy thousand angels who will make duâ for him till the evening. If he passes away on that day, he will pass away as a martyr. Whoever recites this duâ in the evening, will attain the same benefits.” (Tirmidhi) 16.) DURÛD - Hadrat Aamir ibne Rabi’ah narrates from his father that he said, “I heard Rasûlullâh Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam giving a khutbah and he was saying, ‘Whoever sends durûd on me, the angels continue to send salât (make duâ) for him as long as he is engaged in durûd. Therefore, one can read a little or a lot.” (Ahmad, Ibn Mâjah) Hadrat Abdullah ibn Amr Radiallahu Anhu narrates, “The one who sends one durûd on Nabi Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam, Allah Ta'ala bestows seventy mercies on him and the angels make duâ for him seventy times.” (Ahmad) Nabi Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “Whoever sends durûd upon me in a book (i.e. he writes it), the angels continue seeking forgiveness for him as long as my name remains in that book.” (Tabrânî) 17.) SEEKING KNOWLEDGE - Rasûlullâh Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “Whoever traverses a road seeking knowledge, Allâh Ta'ala will make easy for him a path to Jannah. The angels spread their wings out of happiness for a seeker of knowledge. Those in the heavens and those on earth, including the fish in the depths of the ocean seek forgiveness for a learned person. The virtue of a learned person over a worshipper is like the virtue of the full moon over the stars. The Ulamâ are the inheritors of the Ambiyâ. The Ambiyâ did not leave dirhams and dinars (gold and silver coins) as inheritance. Their inheritance is knowledge. Whoever has taken it, has taken great goodness.” (Abû Dawûd) 18.) VISITING THE ILL- Rasûlullâh Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “Whoever visits his sick Muslim brother, then he is walking in the gardens of Jannah until he sits. When he sits, mercy envelopes him. If he goes in the morning, then seventy thousand angels make duâ for him until the evening. If he goes in the evening, then seventy thousand angels make duâ for him until the morning.” (Ibn Mâjah) 19.) SLEEPING WITH WUDHU - Nabî Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “An angel shares the bed of the person who passes the night in a state of purity (i.e. wudû). Whenever he tosses or turns, the angel supplicates, saying, “O Allâh, forgive this servant of yours.” (Ibn Hibbân, Fathul Barî)  20.) SALÂM - Rasûlullâh Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “As-Salâm is one of the names of Allâh Ta'ala which He Ta'ala has placed on the earth.  Thus spread it amongst yourselves, because when a Muslim person passes a group of people and makes salâm to them to which they reply, then he has one rank of virtue over them due to reminding them of salâm.  If they do not reply, then those who are better than these people (viz. the angels) reply to him.” (Targhîb) Note: In salâm, one is making duâ for the protection of the other.       HAJ WITHOUT A VISA! Mufti Mohammed H Abasoomer  Since Haj is among the most virtuous deeds in Islam, and not everyone can afford it (especially on a continuous basis) Allah Ta'ala has attached the reward of optional Haj to certain other deeds for the benefit of all. Now that the Hujjaj have departed, those who have been left behind can take consolation from the following narrations which promise of various other deeds yielding Haj rewards: 1. Wudhu at home before proceeding for Salaah with Jamaat. Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: “One who purifies himself (i.e, makes wudhu) and leaves his home to attend the fardh salaah in congregation receives the reward of a Haji in the state of Ihram. And if he leaves for the salaatu-Dhuhaa (Chaast) he gets the reward of ‘Umrah. (Sunan Abi Dawud)  2. Salatul Ishraaq. Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: “Whoever offers his Fajr salaah in congregation, and then remains seated making the dhikr (remembrance) of Allah Ta’ala until (approximately 15 mins after) sunrise after which he offers two rak’aats of salaah (Ishraaq), will receive the reward of one complete Haj and one complete ‘Umrah” (Sunan Tirmidhi). Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam repeated the words: “complete” thrice. 3. Going to the Masjid to acquire or impart Knowledge. Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: “Whoever goes to the Masjid for the purpose of learning or teaching Knowledge, receives the reward of a Haji whose Haj was perfect. (Tabarani) 4. Umrah in Ramadhan. Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam passed by Ummu Sinan while on his way to haj. “Why didn’t you accompany me for Haj?” he enquired. She said: “We only have two camels, one my husband has used to be with you in Haj, and the other is needed for transporting water.” Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: “Umrah in Ramadhan equals the reward of Haj with me”. (Sahih Muslim) 5. To recite “Subhaanallah” 100 times in the morning and evening. Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: “He who recites Subhaanallah 100 times in the morning and another 100 times in the evening is like one who performed Haj 100 times!” (Sunan Tirmidhi)  6. Serving one’s Parents: A man came to Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam and said: “I wish to participate in Jihaad, but I cannot afford it” Rasulullah r enquired if any of his parents were alive, to which he said: “Yes! My mother is alive” Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: “Show Allah how you serve her. If you do so (duly) you will be like a: Haaji, a Mu’tamir (one doing ‘Umrah) and a Mujaahid (One striving in Allah’s way).” (Abu Ya’la) Hafidh Ibn Rajab Hambali Rahmatullah Alaih has quoted other deeds that yield the reward of Haj from various Predecessors (i.e, not necessarily from the hadith). All of the following have been extracted from his priceless work: Lataaiful Ma’aarif, pgs.357-359. 7. Attending the Jumu’ah Salaah. Sa’eed ibnul Musayyab Radiallahu Anhu said: “Attending the Jumu’ah Salâh is better according to me than a nafl (voluntary) Haj.”  8. Attending the Eid Salaah. Some of the Sahabah Radiallahu Anhuma have said: “Attending the Eidul Fitr Salaah equals the reward of ‘Umrah, and the Eidul Adha Salaah equals that of Haj.” 9. Esha Salaah in Congregation. A reliable Tabi’e, Uqbah ibn ‘Abdil Ghaafir Rahmatullah Alaih said: “Offering the Esha salaah in congregation equals the reward of Haj, and the Fajr in congregation equals ‘Umrah” 10. Fulfilling the need of a fellow Muslim. Imam Hasan Al-Basri Rahmatullah Alaih said: “Your proceeding to fulfil the need of a fellow muslim is better for you than one Haj after another!” (Also quoted By Zabeedi in Sharhul Ihyaa, vol.6 pg.292) 11. The fulfilment of all obligations. After citing the above, Hafidh Ibn Rajab Rahmatullah Alaih writes: “The fulfilling of all obligatory deeds is considered better than Nafl (voluntary) Haj and ‘Umrah. This is due to (the Hadith in Sahih Bukhari which states that) the best way of attaining nearness to Allah Ta’ala is via the obligatory acts. However many people find it easy to carry out nafl Haj and ‘Umrah, but feel it difficult to fulfil the other responsibilities (Wajib acts) like repayment of debts and other such duties. 12. Abstinence from the haraam (forbidden) acts are also more virtuous than Nafl Haj etc. Some of the Pious predecessors said: “To abstain from an iota of wrong is better than five hundred (Nafl) Haj”. Fudhail ibn ‘Iyadh þ –the great sage of his age- said: “There is no Haj or Jihad that is more important than protecting one’s tongue” i.e, against sin. 13. Any act of Good during the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah. Hafidh Ibn Rajab Rahmatullah Alaih has rightly pointed out: “If the Hadith has promised that any act of good done in these 10 days supersedes even the reward of Jihad, which is considered better than optional Haj too, that means all good done in these days will also supersede the reward of optional Haj.” (Pg.390) The following is an addition to what Hafidh Ibn Rajab Rahmatullah Alaih has cited: 14. Spending on a student of Islamic Knowledge. Once a father came to Imam Muhammad ibn Sahnun Rahmatullah Alaih and said: “I will earn by myself and I will not distract my son from his studies. Imam Ibn Sahnun replied: “Do you know that your reward for doing so will be greater than that of (nafl) Haj, and Jihad!” (Ma’alim Irshadiyyah of Shaykh Muhammad ‘Awwamah, pg.35)  Note: 1. The promises of “gaining the same reward as Haj” that are mentioned above, are restricted to the reward only. It does not mean that one upon whom Haj is obligatory can merely suffice on these deeds. (Sharh-Nawawi ‘ala Muslim & Fathul Mulhim) 2. Imam Tirmidhi Rahmatullah Alaih has quoted Imaam Is-haq Ibn Rahuyah Rahmatullah Alaih  as saying that this reward should be understood in the light of the Hadith that explains surah ikhlaas to be equal to one third of the Qur’aan. (Sunan Tirmidhi) i.e, one who recites it will receive the reward of reciting one third, but since he hasn’t physically done so the reward will not be multiplied. (Sharh Nawawi) The reward for physically doing an act is multiplied ten times and more in accordance to the sincerity, and sacrifice that accompanies it. Mufti Mahmud Hasan Gangohi Sahib þ has also highlighted this in his Malfuzat. Furthermore, by memorizing/reciting surah ikhlas thrice, one does not become a Hafidh of the entire Quran..! 3. The purpose here is not to discourage one from the actual Haj. Like they say: “There’s nothing like the real thing..” Mufti Mahmud Hasan Gangohi Rahmatullah Alaih has highlighted this in his Malfuzat.  Allah Ta’ala knows best, and may He grant us all the tawfeeq (ability) to practice on the above, as well as afford us the opportunity to perform the real Haj repeatedly. My mothers and sisters! Allah Ta’ala has brought us to this place (Makkah Sharif) in order to bless us with His mercies. In this world, no person can give anyone anything as the giver is only Allah Ta’ala. Therefore we’ve got to learn how to come to this place and receive from Allah Ta’ala. The universe has no shortage of humans. However, one is to be a human being and the other is to be a Muslim. Allah Ta’ala wants to see if we are humans or are we Muslims. Everyone can be a human, but we have to become true Muslims by following the Tariqah of our beloved Muhammadur Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam, and thereafter we must draw from the treasures of Allah Ta’ala. This lesson should be learnt on this sacred ground, that how does one become a true Muslim and how does one take from Allah Ta’ala. We should not just live our lives as humans as this is not perfection, rather perfection is, that a human becomes a Muslim (one that submits to the will of Allah Ta’ala). How does one attain perfection as a true Muslim? If Allah Ta’ala has forbidden me from looking at a certain thing or looking in a particular place then I will control my eyes and not look, even if it means losing my life in the process. I will not allow my limbs nor my brains to be used wrongly. When a person reaches this stage, then he is not just a human but he is a Muslim. In today’s times we only see humans, we do not see Muslims. Why is this so? This is because we are involved in various acts of wrong with the eyes, tongue, ears, hands, feet, etc. Why are these limbs being used wrongly? This is because we have become oblivious of the fact that these limbs are going to testify against us on the day of Qiyaamah for using them in acts of sin. If we have conviction, that we will be held accountable for our wrong, we will never use them wrongly in acts of sin. It is stated that on the day of Qiyamah, one’s mouth will be sealed and all his limbs will be questioned in regards to the actions that they had carried out. Each limb will give evidence of their actions; the time and place of the action will also be recorded. Each person will be shocked, surprised and helpless with regards to the evidence of the limbs.” My mothers and sisters! Think and ponder over this. One day we all have to die, did we use our limbs as Muslims? If so, then they will give evidence in favour of us. If we used our limbs as humans only, then they will give evidence against us. On the day of Qiyamah, Allah Ta’ala will question us, where and how did you earn, and where and how did you spend your wealth? Allah Ta’ala will say, “I had blessed you with a valuable life without you having to pay for it, how did you spend it?” On the day of Qiyamah, no human will be of assistance to another. Our sons, daughters, husband, wife, parents, brothers and sisters for whom we discarded the Sunnat will not be able to help us. Instead they will give evidence against us. These are not fairy-tales but I can prove it from the Quraan and Hadith. On the day of Qiyamah, a father will remind his son of all the favours he showered upon him. The father will ask the son for only one of his deeds so that he may be able to enter Jannah. The son will reply, “I need that deed for myself, rather transfer your deeds to me, so that I may enter Jannah.” The father will say to his son, “I have spent so much money in pleasing you, on your wedding, music, dancing and in so many other forbidden things, so give me your good deeds.” But the son will continue asking the father for his deeds so that he is able to enter Jannah and he will be prepared to let his father go to Jahannam or be destroyed. My mothers and sisters! Please think and be very concerned about this, as a very fearful scene is to appear before us soon. Once a person is lowered into the grave, nobody really worries about him. We have seen so many men, women and children that have left this world, and after a while nobody cries for them, nor thinks much of them regularly. If one’s mother has passed away, then the maximum that a person will cry on her demise is perhaps two or three years. Therefore every individual, male or female, young or old, have to make their lives constructive whilst they have the opportunity in the world. For this a person will have to worry, have concern and ponder over his life. If a person does not want to make his life a constructive one then he may carry on fulfilling his desires and enjoying himself, there isn’t any difference between him and animals. Yes, the only possible difference between him and the animals will be, that he will be wearing clothes whilst animals do not wear clothes. For such people it is stated, أولئك كالانعام بل هم اضل- أولئك هم الغافلون They are like animals nay more misguided – they are unmindful   Nothing enters the grave with a person, except a person’s actions. Hazrat Umar Radiallahu Anhu said, “The Kafn (shroud) required to cover the body is only needed until the grave, so that the body is not exposed, if this was not the case, then even the shroud was not needed.” A persons wife will remove all his valuables at the time of his death and if she is reminded of all her husband’s favours on her, that he worked so hard for her so she should leave at least one valuable item on him, she will reply, “These things will be of no help to him except his A’amal.” So my mothers and sisters! As I have said, it is no perfection to be only a human, it is important to be a Muslim. Therefore the Adhaan (the call to prayer) is made from the Masjid five times daily. The call is, “Come to make your life a valuable one at the Masjid, and not in your business.” If one ever becomes successful with his business or any other material thing then it will be temporary, be it wealth or ruler-ship. My mothers and sisters! If you have wealth, then do not be deceived by thinking that Allah Ta’ala is pleased with you, and therefore He has given you wealth. Allah Ta’ala gave wealth to, Qaroon, Firawn, Namrud and many others but they were unsuccessful. It is Allah Ta’ala’s choice to bless whomsoever He wishes with wealth but it is not a sign of success. On the other hand, a pauper may be successful in the court of Allah Ta’ala.  Ebrahim Alaihis Salaam was thrown into the fire but Allah Ta’ala granted him success. Why? Allah Ta’ala does not attach success and progress to material things but success is attached to one’s deeds and actions, if one’s deeds and actions are correct then Allah Ta’ala will make a person successful, and on the contrary, if they are evil then Allah Ta’ala will make him unsuccessful. If a person is living in a shack, he is eating dry bread and water, he is wearing patched clothes but his actions are correct, Allah Ta’ala will make him successful. On the other hand if a person is a millionaire and his deeds, action and Yaqeen is incorrect, Allah Ta’ala will make him unsuccessful. This is the rule of Allah Ta’ala. Our rules change daily, whereas the rule of Allah Ta’ala does not change. The rules which Allah Ta’ala has established were brought to mankind by the Ambiya Alaihis Salaam and will remain forever. The area where Baytullah is located today is the area where many sacrifices were made by Ebrahim Alaihis Salaam, his wife, his child, and due to their sacrifices, thousands of years have passed yet Haj is still being performed. So many people have a hearty desire to come to Baytullah, whether rich or poor. Once Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam told Hazrat Abu Bakr and Hazrat Umar Radiallahu Anhuma, “Allah has sent Salaams to you.” Today nobody receives Salaams from Allah Ta’ala, why? Because these are the people that sacrificed, they were taught by Nabi Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam to build their Yaqeen (conviction) that Allah Ta’ala does not make a man successful on the basis of material wealth. Therefore they did not waste their energies making an effort on their wealth, land or country. The Sahaaba Radiallahu Anhum made an effort on their Aa’maal and on their Imaan. The result of their sacrifice is that they are all sleeping peacefully in their graves and thousands visit their graves and recognise them as the ones that sacrificed, the ones that simplified their lives, sacrificed their domestic affairs, and sacrificed their wealth and lives for the sake of Allah Ta’ala and His Rasul Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam. These were the people that told Nabi Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam, “Ya Rasulullah! The wealth and life which is spent according to your teachings is better and more beloved than the wealth and life which remains at home.” My mothers and sisters! These pious elders sacrificed in this manner, and as a result the angels descended for them and the doors of Hidayat were opened for them. Today, if we want Hidayat and help from Allah Ta’ala then we should make an effort in the same manner as well. These promises are not restricted to the Ambiya Alaihis Salaam or to Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam himself or the Sahaaba Radiallahu Anhum but it is for mankind until the day of Qiyamah. It is Allah Ta’ala’s decision that whoever will sacrifice will attain success. My mothers and sisters! You have been created for the benefit of the entire universe. Why have you attended this program? Not because of your husband, brothers or sons but you are sitting here for the Hidayat of the whole universe. You are responsible for all the human beings which are to be born until the day of Qiyamah. By Allah! If Nabi-e-Paak Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam never sacrificed then there wouldn’t have been any Muslim, Ka’aba, Masjid-un-Nabawi, nor would there have been any people to perform Salaah or Haj. It is because of his sacrifices that we are seeing all this in front of us today. My mothers and sisters! There is just one request which we wish to present before you! That is to become a representative of Imaan. May Allah Ta’ala save us from that day, when people will come here from different corners of the world to attain wealth, goods, country or ruler-ship. May the servants of Allah Ta’ala come here to take Imaan, A’amal-e-Saleha and the work of Da’wat. My mothers and sisters! You have a great responsibility upon you. Think and ponder, what is this responsibility? It is the concern, that how will we face Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam? Allah forbid, if a man or woman passes away without attaining the Kalimah or Imaan, how will he face Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam? Therefore, do not sit complacently, go out and you will witness how many people are leaving this world without even knowing the Kalimah, without knowing Allah Ta’ala and His Rasul Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam. Whose responsibility is this? This responsibility lies with every man and woman. We have to teach Deen, Imaan, Sunnats and the pain and grief of Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam to the masses. We have to teach them that one day we will all have to die and because of this, one has to prepare by learning and thereafter practising.  So think of this and make a Niyyat (intention) to prepare your men folk for it, just as you work on your men folk to buy you new clothes, shoes and jewellery to attend a wedding, work on them for this too. There is a true incident that I wish to narrate to you, a certain woman was invited to a wedding but she did not have a new outfit for the wedding. She made her husband go and buy her material at night. She sewed the outfit throughout the night and at Fajr time she showed her husband a complete outfit. Nowadays husbands are subjected to their wives, wives are not subjected to their husbands. The husband acts on the instructions of the wife. Therefore tell your husband’s to go and seek Imaan, otherwise we will all be questioned on the day Qiyamah. We should learn and seek Imaan so that we may all leave the world with Imaan and become Allah Ta’ala’s, we should make a Niyyah for this and work towards it. My mothers and sisters! With an aching heart, let me be honest in informing you that from Baytullah and Baytur Rasool, the place where the first winds of Imaan, Akhlaaq and Hidayat once blew, from these very same places, televisions and radios are being purchased by the Hujjaj and taken home. This is a concern, in fact a responsibility that lies on our shoulders. This pain and concern should be within us, that is, all these people who are coming here should leave with Imaan and Yaqeen. We have received news from India stating that a ship has been standing at customs for three days due to the number of televisions and radios purchased. My mothers and sisters! Start kitaab reading at home. We do not have to conduct three hours of kitaab reading, we can start with five or ten or fifteen minutes, but it should be done daily. Request your husband’s for permission to start, surely they will permit you to conduct Ta’lim in the home. If you women start, other ladies will follow suite, the whole Makkah Sharif will start, when the work starts in the whole of Makkah Sharif, then it will spread throughout the whole world. Everything starts from Makkah Sharif. If Nabi Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam’s Aa’maal become alive in Makkah Sharif then they will become alive in the whole world. Therefore make intention of starting Kitaab reading, even for a little while, and if nobody is prepared to join you, sit alone. You should also make intention of completing your daily Zikr, reciting Quraan Sharif, and being punctual with Salaah. Do not waste time! It is wrong to think that one has completed her deeds for the day, so the remaining time can be spent in gossiping. What is the result of such attitude, my mothers and sisters? Whatever few good deeds we were able to carry out, we give it to those whom we backbitten about and in return we have taken the burden of all their sins upon us. Will this ever make sense? Therefore, after carrying out all our good actions such as Ta’leem, Tasbihaat, Tilawat, etc. we should sit and ponder on what good and bad actions we have done for the day? Maulana Muhammed Ilyaas Saheb Rahmatullahi Alaihi used to say, “Take stock of yourself, if you were blessed with the ability of carrying out good deeds, then thank Allah Ta’ala and if you have committed any evil, then ask Allah Ta’ala for forgiveness.” My mothers and sisters we will make Dua, O’ Allah forgive our sins, faults and mistakes. O’ Allah bless us with Your love and Your connection. O’ Allah accept everyone’s coming, accept this gathering of ours. O’ Allah make us a cause of making Imaan and Hidayat alive. O’ Allah all those who have come here, bless them with correct Imaan, Yaqeen and pain and grief for it. O’ Allah open the doors of Hidayat, wipe out all branches of falsehood, make Imaan alive, and make alive all branches of Imaan, all branches of Hidayat. O’ Allah all those friends who have asked us to make Dua for them or written for Duas or they have hopes of our Duas, fulfil all their necessary and permissible desires. O’ Allah save all Muslims from all difficulties, calamities, problems and illnesses. O’ Allah help the debtors to pay their debts, release those that are in bondage. O’ Allah accept these Duas of ours. One that reads 4 Rakaats Sunnat Mu’akkada before Zuhr Salaah is forgiven of all his sins committed for the day. One who reads three times, “Rabbighfirli” in Sajda, after any Nafl Namaaz, he is forgiven. One who wears clothes or shoes to go out to seek knowledge, Allah Ta’ala forgives his sins until he returns home. When two Muslims meet, shake hands, smile with one another for the pleasure of Allah Ta’ala, they are forgiven before they part. TEN SURAHS THAT SAVES YOU FROM TEN THINGS Allamah Jalaluddin Suyuti Rahmatullahi Alaihi says, Surah Fateha saves one from Allah Ta’ala’s wrath. Surah Yaseen will save one from becoming thirsty on the day of Qiyamah. Surah Dukhaan will save one from the fears of the day of Qiyamah. Surah Waaqiah saves one from hunger and poverty. Surah Mulk saves one from the punishment of the grave. Surah Kawthar saves one from the enmity of the enemies. Surah Kaafiroon saves one from turning to kufr at the time of death. Surah Ikhlaas saves one from hypocrisy. Surah Falaq saves one from jealousy of the jealous people. Surah Naas saves one from evil whisperings. When the month of Ramdaan would terminate and the moon of Shawwal would be sighted then Hadrat Sheikh R.A would say that Allah Ta'ala is now inviting us to his house. How angry wouldn’t a person get if a family member doesn’t invite us to his place or function? Allah Ta'ala is inviting every person for haj which we may term as Izn-e-Aam. A pious person says that one was facing the Ka’aba throughout his life. Now one has been blessed with the opportunity to be in front of the Ka’ba. A poet says, سنا ہے تیرے درپے تیرے عاشقوں کا ہجوم  ہوگا اگر اجازت ہو میں بھی ان میں شامل ہوجاوَں We have heard that there are crowds of your lovers at your threshold If there is permission I also wish to be included amongst them When the Hajis are departing for Haj we should also have a desire to be amongst the Hujjaj. Haj is the final fundamental from amongst the fundamentals of Islam. First a person has been commanded to bring Imaan upon Allah Ta'ala, thereafter a person strengthens his relationship with Allah c by performing Salaah. In the month of Ramdaan a person expresses his love for Allah Ta'ala by remaining hungry for the pleasure of Allah, and spending his wealth in the path of Allah by discharging his Zakaat. When a person has proved himself to Allah Ta'ala then a person is finally called to the house of Allah Ta'ala and hosted by Allah Ta'ala with the water of Zam-Zam. We should spiritually prepare ourselves before undertaking our journey of Haj. If one is not spiritually prepared then a person will undertake this journey and return without any change whatsoever. Many people do not even perform their obligatory Salaah whilst travelling to Makkah Mukarramah. Many people miss their Jamaat Salaah and perform their Salaah in their hotel rooms, many get involved in arguments over food in the hotels. For many it is taking photographs of others in front of the Rawdah-e-Mubarak in Madinah or in front of the Multazam in Makkah Sharif. This is the result of not correcting ourselves prior to undertaking the journey of Haj. A group of people were once undertaking their journey to Haj (which was a Nafl Haj). A Buzurg (pious person) asked them, “Where are you people going?” They replied that they were on their way to perform Haj. He then asked, “Do you know the owner of the house?” They replied in the negative. He then said, “Stay with me for a year, I will explain to you who is the owner of the house and then you should undertake your journey for Haj.” A beautiful example has been given to understand what is the condition of a person who undertakes a journey to haj but hasn’t corrected his life, it is likened to having the best of seeds and irrigation system for planting but he merely throws the seeds on the ground. He does not plough the land and plant the seeds. Such a person will not receive any crops.   When a person spiritually rectifies his life, recognises Allah Ta'ala and then undertakes this journey then such a person will return completely changed. He will now start performing his Qadha Salaah that he had missed, protect his gaze from Na-Mahram women, fulfil the commands of Allah Ta'ala and abstain from the disobedience of Allah, etc. Allah Ta'ala says, إِنَّ أَوَّلَ بَيْتٍ وُضِعَ لِلنَّاسِ لَلَّذِي بِبَكَّةَ مُبَارَكًا وَهُدًى لِّلْعَالَمِينَ Indeed the first house designated (appointed and set up) for man (as a direction to worship Allaah) was the one at Bakkah (Makkah) which is blessed and a guidance for the (people of the) universe.  فِيهِ آيَاتٌ بَيِّـنَاتٌ مَّقَامُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ In it are clear signs; (among these is) the Maqaam (station) of Ibraheem A.S From the time a person leaves home he will witness great signs on this journey. Amongst the great signs that a person will witness in Makkah Mukarramah is the “Maqaam-e-Ibrahim.” This is not the golden case that is located on the Tawaaf area but it is actually the stone that is placed in the golden case with the footprints of Ibrahim A.S. This stone had served as an elevator when Ibrahim A.S was building the Ka’ba. Whilst expanding the Haram the Saudis have endeavoured to move the Maqaam-e-Ibrahim but were unsuccessful in their efforts in spite of using heavy duty machinery. Ismail u had assisted his father in constructing the Ka’aba. The son would carve the rocks and convey it to the father and the father would place them in the building of the Ka’ba. One should recognise the Qudrat and power of Allah Ta'ala by looking at the Maqaam-e-Ibrahim. Another great sign is the well of Zam-Zam. During the 1970’s the U.S. government had given the Saudis a bag containing tablets which should be inserted into the well of Zam-Zam so that the well can be dried. At that time the local Saudi people would not touch the water of Zam-Zam as they doubted the purity of the water. They felt that the water was contaminated with sewer. The king ruling at that particular time was King Faizel and he had ordered an engineer to inspect the water. He explained that the well is about 2m high, 2m wide and 2m long. The engineer couldn’t understand the source of the water. He instructed his assistant to step into the well as it was just was 2m deep. The assistant explained that he was able to feel a little opening at the bottom of the well with his feet and water was gushing out with great force. Millions of people use this water daily and there is no shortage. Nowadays, this water is being pumped to Madinah Munawwarah as well. This is also a great sign of Allah Ta'ala. A person should remain in the company of some pious person or lover of Allah Ta'ala and recognise Allah prior to undertaking this journey so that one derives maximum benefit. May Allah Ta’ala afford us the opportunity to be present repeatedly in the holy lands of Makkah Mukarramah and Madinah Munawwarah and may Allah Ta'ala accept the haj of all the Hujjaj. Ameen!
