Special Advice's For The Guests of Allah Ta’ala and Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam - When Visiting Baytullah and The Rasool of Allah Ta’ala (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam)

Special Advices of Aarifbillah Hazrat Maulana Shah Hakeem Muhammed Akhtar Saheb Rahmatullah Alaih When entering Madinah Sharif recite the Sunnat Dua, one can also recite this poetry of Hazrat Shah Hakeem Muhammed Akhtar Saheb Rahmatullah Alaih. Kahaa yeh meri qismat yeh Haazri Madinah mer, mer jaagtahu Ya Rabb Ya Khwaab dekta hoo?  “Where this destiny of mine, that I am present in Madinah, am I awake or am I dreaming?” One should read Durood Sharif in abundance at the Rowdah of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. When one’s gaze falls upon Rowdah-e-Mubarak, then one should look at it with utmost love and respect. Thereafter, recite this poem, ڈھو نڈتي تھی گنبد خضرا کو ،   ديکھ وہ ہے  ،اے نگاہ ے قرار ہوشيار ،  اے جان مضطر ہوشيار  ،آگيا شاہ مدينہ کا ديار “You were looking for the Green Dome. Look! There it is, O’ you restless eyes! Be alert!  O’ you intelligent one! Be alert! The city of the king of Madinah is in front of us.”   Remind yourself, that you are standing at a place which is more virtuous than the Arsh of Allah Ta’ala. Ulama have stated, “The piece of ground that is touching the blessed body of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam is more virtuous than the Arsh of Allah Ta’ala.” Again, one should recite the following couplet Kahaa yeh meri qismat yeh Haazri Madinah mer, mer jaagtahu Ya Rabb Ya Khwaab dekta hoo?  “Where this destiny of mine, that I am present in Madinah, am I awake or am I dreaming?”   This is no ordinary place, therefore utmost respect should be displayed for the city of Madinah. Also, express gratitude to Allah Ta’ala for affording you with this golden opportunity of visiting Madinah Sharif. Recite Salaat and Salaam with utmost respect in a moderate tone as Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam is alive in his grave and in fact will reply to your greeting. After reciting Salaat and Salaam recite the following verse, If only it were that when they oppress (wrong) their souls, they should come to you (O Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) seeking Allaah’s forgiveness and then the Rasool (Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) seeks forgiveness on their behalf, they will then surely find that Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful (Surah Nisaa verse no. 64) We should then say the following, “O’ Allah I carried out two things which were within my capability, the first is that I have come this far, and secondly I am asking You for Forgiveness. O’ Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam I beg you to intercede on my behalf, so please seek forgiveness before Allah Ta’ala on my behalf.” “O’ Allah You Are Kareem (Kind & Compassionate) and my Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam is also Kareem (kind and compassionate). O Allah! millions of thanks that I am between two Kareems.” The Durood Sharif that we recite comprises of the name of Allah Ta’ala and      Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, thus the reciter of Durood Sharif is between two Kareems. A ship between two Kareems will never sink! Also, say the following to Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam as he is able to hear us,  “O’ Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, O’ mercy for the whole universe. I am a sinful Ummati, I appeal to you because you are kind and compassionate. Please spread your hands to Allah Ta’ala on my behalf and ask forgiveness for me.” Thereafter engage in a lengthy Dua without lifting one’s hands. The hands should be left at one’s sides. To lift the hands as in Dua (after Salaah) is not permissible at a graveside as it is possible that the onlookers may fall into a misconception, that the one engaged in supplication is asking the inmate of the grave and not Allah Ta’ala. If one intends lifting his/her hands for Dua then face towards the Qibla.   My Sheikh Hadrat Maulana Shah Abrar-ul-Haq Saheb Rahmatullah Alaih used to engage in abundance in Dua at the Rowdah-e-Mubarak. Due to huge crowds Hadrat Rahmatullah Alaih would be jostled around, yet he would enjoy it and say, “Where will one get so much jostling and pushing around whilst at the same time attain salvation!” Allah Ta’ala and His Rasul Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam are also witnessing that their beloved is being pushed around, and it is then that the mercy of Allah Ta’ala descends upon him. There is an abundance of mercy raining upon Rowdah-e-Mubarak, so make lots of Duas and beg of Allah Ta’ala in abundance. Imam Abu Yusuf Rahmatullah Alaih said, “Whenever I experienced any difficulties, I would go to the grave of my Ustaad Imam Abu Hanifa Rahmatullah Alaih, but I never beseeched the occupant of the grave rather I asked of Allah Ta’ala in the following words, “O’ Allah, accept my Duas through the blessings of my Ustaad that is resting here.” Imam Abu Yusuf Rahmatullah Alaih said, “My Duas were never rejected.” Therefore, ask in abundance at Rowdah-e-Mubarak. One should beg of Allah Ta’ala to accept his/her Duas through the blessings of Sayyidul Ambiyah Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. Make Dua for one’s parents, siblings, relatives, the people of your locality, all those that attend the Masajid, Khanqahs, those that are out in the path of AllahTa’ala, and for all the Muslims of the world. Make Dua for the Kuffar that Allah Ta’ala blesses them with Imaan, make Dua for the people of Imaan that Allah Ta’ala blesses them with Taqwa. make Dua for people who are involved in all sorts of calamities that Allah Ta’ala grants them well- being, make Dua for those who are ill, that Allah Ta’ala grants them good health. Make Dua for those that are ignorant, that Allah Ta’ala grants them knowledge and finally ask Allah Ta’ala to have mercy on the fish in the oceans, the birds in the skies, the animals in the jungles and the ants in the ant holes. Whosoever supplicates in this way will be blessed with the rank of the Abdaal and one’s personal Duas will be accepted.   If the Dua of Imam Abu Yusuf Rahmatullah Alaih was never rejected at the grave of his Ustaad Imam Abu Hanifa Rahmatullah Alaih, do you think that Duas will be rejected at the grave of the one upon whom Imam Abu Hanifa Rahmatullah Alaih brought Imaan on and in fact became a slave to? So make as many Duas as possible. Say, “O’ Allah accept all my supplications by the medium of Sayyidul Ambiyah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.” اللهم اغفرلي و اغفر لامة محمد صلي الله عليه و سلم O’ Allah forgive me and the Ummah of Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam اللهم اهدني و اهد أمة محمد صلي الله علي و سلم O’ Allah give me Hidayat and give Hidayat to the Ummat of Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. اللهم عافني و عاف أمة محمد صلي الله عليه و سلم O’ Allah keep me and the whole Ummat of Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam with prosperity. Recite plenty of Durood Sharif at the Rowdah-e-Mubarak and in Masjid-e-Nabawi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. Respect the people of Madinah Sharif. If they inconvenience you by pushing you around or in any other way, then do not even say “Oof” to them. Endure all this in silence because they are the people of the “Royal Court” and you are their guest. They should honour their guest and you should honour them because they are the neighbours of the king of Madinah. If you are inconvenienced by them in any way, keep silent and do not retaliate. Hadrat Hakeemul Ummat, Maulana Thanwi Rahmatullah Alaih has written that a person once stated, “The yoghurt of Madinah Sharif is sour whereas the yoghurt of our country is sweet.” The very night, he saw Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam in a dream who said, “Depart from Madinah Sharif immediately and return home. If you like the yoghurt of your city and dislike the yoghurt of my city, then why did you come here?” This person regretted and in fact cried over his error but it was to no avail. Disrespect is extremely harmful; one should therefore not utter anything disrespectful about Madinah Sharif and the inhabitants of Madinah Sharif. Look at everything with honour and love, but even better lower your gaze and focus on your Ibaadat. On witnessing the Ka’aba Sharif, think that the gaze of Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam had fallen on the Ka’aba Sharif as well; I am looking at the same things that Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam witnessed, “Subhanallah.” How much shouldn’t I thank Allah Ta’ala that my gaze is indirectly meeting the gaze of Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. Again, recite the following couplet; کہاں یہ میری قسمت یہ طواف تیرا گھر کا ۔ میں جاگتا  ہوں یا رب یا خواب دیکھتا  ہوں؟ Kahaa yeh meri qismat yeh Tawaaf tera ghar ka, mer jaagtahu Ya Rabb Ya Khwaab dekta hoo? “Where this destiny of mine, that I am making Tawaaf of  Your house, am I awake or am I dreaming?” When you are at the Multazam, think that my bosom is touching the very same place that the Mubarak bosom of Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam had touched. On seeing the moon of Makkah Sharif and Madinah Sharif, think that at these places Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam would observe the very same moon with his Mubarak eyes. When making Tawaaf, think that this is the very place where Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, all the Ambiya Alaihis Salaam and all the pious servants of Allah Ta’ala walked. Also think, that directly above the Ka’aba Sharif, above the 7th heaven is the Baitul Ma’moor which seventy thousand Malaaikah make Tawaaf of daily. Those angels that were blessed with the opportunity of making Tawaaf once will never have another opportunity again.   One should engage in Dua whilst making Tawaaf and one may also recite this couplet. کہاں یہ میری قسمت یہ طواف تیرا گھر کا ۔ میں جاگتا  ہوں یا رب یا خواب دیکھتا  ہوں؟ Kahaa yeh meri qismat yeh Tawaaf tera ghar ka, mer jaagtahu Ya Rabb Ya Khwaab dekta hoo?  “Where this destiny of mine, that I am making Tawaaf of  Your house, am I awake or am I dreaming?” The above couplets can be recited at the different (Mubarak) places one intends visiting, whether Madinah Sharif, Makkah Sharif, at the Rowdah-e-Mubarak, at the Multazam, Mina, Arafaat, Muzdalifa, etc. Replace the underlined words Tawaaf of Your house with Madinah Sharif, Makkah Sharif, Rowdah-e-Mubarak, Multazam, Mina, Arafaat, Muzdalifa, etc. When reciting these couplets, do not only think of the places but think of the owner of these places, AllahTa’ala that He is before us. When entering the boundaries of the Haram Sharif say, “O’ Allah, I am entering the boundary of the Haram, through its blessings make Haraam on me the fire of Jahanam.” Keep some Dua kitaabs with you, as we humans tend to forget. Protecting oneself from ostentation is absolutely essential and necessary; as such a practice could result in all our deeds being destroyed. If one gets an opportunity to attach himself at the Multazam, then do so, and engage in Duas. Duas made at Multazam are never rejected. Important Note: It is not advisable for the women to attach themselves to the Multazam due the large crowds and the number of onlookers.   ADVICES TO THOSE VISITING THE HARAMAIN SHARIFAIN Protect one’s gazes in the Haramain Sharifain, as Muslims from around the world are present there, one should not look at Na Mahrams even from the corner of one’s eye. A person should make an intention not to look otherwise the Nafs will encourage one to cast lustful glances. Protect your heart, do not bring evil thoughts in it. Do not make your Nafs happy, by thinking of the opposite sex, nor thinking of past sins. Nothing is wrong when thoughts come on their own, but if you bring them and think further about them then this is bad. Save yourself physically as far as possible from Na-Mahrams. (One should be extra cautious during the days spent in Mina as generally people are very lax and jovial. These are Mubarak days and should be spent in Ibaadat and Duas.) Do not talk unnecessarily. Rather keep one’s self busy with Ibaadat, Tawaaf, Duas, Tilaawat, Zikr, Durood Sharif, etc. If one gets a bit tired then sit and gaze at Ka’aba Sharif, this is also Ibaadat. Do not engage in debates regarding Mas’alaas, etc. When making Tawaaf then one should not look directly at Ka’aba Sharif because when the King is addressing His people, it is disrespectful to stare at Him. If one’s gaze involuntarily falls on a Na-Mahram in Makkah Sharif and one gets inclined towards them, then think, “This person is the guest of Allah Ta’ala and they are more honourable than my mother and father.” And likewise if this should happen in Madinah Sharif, then think, “This person is the guest of Allah Ta’ala and our beloved Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam and they are more honourable than my mother and father.” If one is hurt or harmed by the people of the Haramain Sharifain, then do not complain about it, bear it with patience and think that they are the custodians of these places. If they will perform one Tawaaf and ask Allah Ta’ala for forgiveness, they will be forgiven. We are not equal to the dust under their feet. If any of the food, drinks or accommodation is not to one’s satisfaction in these Mubarak places then refrain from complaining about it, as we mentioned about the person who complained about the yogurt of Madinah Sharif. Therefore one should regard everything in the Haramain Sharifain with respect and honour and do not expose the faults of these places. One should serve others and do not expect to be served. One should be a cause of comfort to others and one should be honoured to serve others. When one’s gaze falls upon Ka’baa Sharif for the first time, then in the heart glorify Allah Ta’ala زاد الله تكريما و تظعيما “Allah increase its Honour and Greatness” Thereafter make Dua by saying, “O’Allah! I am not worthy of being here but You are Kareem, You will have mercy on this unworthy servant of Your’s too.” One should think of the following couplet کوئی تجھ سے کچھ کوئی کچھ مانگتا ہے ، الہی ميں تجھ سے ہوں یا رب طلب گار تيرا Koee tujh se pooch koee pooch maangta he, Ilaahi me tujh se hoo Ya Rabb talabgaar teraa “Some ask for certain things whilst others ask for other things, my desire is of Thee, Thyself.” and ask Allah Ta’ala for AllahTa’ala. If you see a dream, then narrate it to your Sheikh or a well-wisher and one who has the understanding of Deen. Do not relate your dreams to just anybody. Whoever has been honoured with performing Haj and Umrah, should try their utmost to avoid even a breath to pass in the disobedience of Allah Ta’ala. May Allah Ta’ala make it possible for all to act upon the above teachings and advices, Insha-Allah. Ameen.

Sabaq deti he har dam ahle dil

I‘m being given a lesson at every moment by the stories of the Ahlullah There are great lessons to be taken from the Ahlullah. Their speaking, walking, silence, have great lessons in them. One definition of the Awliya is that when they are seen then Allah Ta’ala is remembered. When the name of Allah Ta’ala is taken then they are remembered as they were the cause of one reaching Allah Ta’ala. They have the qualities which is in Allah Ta’ala. Allah Ta’ala is tolerant, so are the Awliya. Allah Ta’ala is kind and so are the Awliya. Allah Ta’ala is forgiving and so are the Awliya.    Hadrat Thanvi R.A has mentioned that by thinking of the Awliya Nur enters the heart. If a person thinks of Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam who is the king of the Awliya then he will find that Nur has entered the heart. On the contrary, when one thinks of a evil person then darkness enters the heart. This is not difficult to understand. When a person thinks of Shaytaan then darkness appears in the heart. Similarly, when one thinks of the agents of Shaytaan such as the actors, singers, sport heroes, they bring darkness into the heart. By giving the world I found the king of the world in my heart, By (slaughtering) my desires and blood (had flowed) I found the king of the worlds When the open bleeding wounds of my heart are seen (because of not fulfilling one’s Haraam desire), the love that Allah Ta’ala bestows me with that I cannot stop speaking of the Ma’rifat of Allah Ta’ala Speaking of the love of Allah Ta’ala is not easy friends, but the stories of the Ahlullah gives me a lesson every moment (how didn’t the Awliya sacrifice, this is my fuel) The effect of the tongue that speaks of the love of Allah Ta’ala is heard from the Ahlullah, but I have been bewitched by the love of Allah Ta’ala which doesn’t possess a tongue The beautiful colourful vast of the (bird) cage cannot deceive me (i.e. the bird), as every second the remembrance of the garden causes me to become uneasy My walking around in the jungles and torn scarf, my deep sighs (of the love of Allah Ta’ala) make me totally helpless How long must I control myself in the path of the love of Allah Ta’ala, let me give my lecture in your gatherings. Connection with Allah Ta’ala can only be acquired from those that have connection with Allah Ta’ala, by their tongues we get pearls

Tere Aashiqo me Jeena

To live with the lovers of Allah Jalla Jala Laho, to die with the lovers of Allah (it means to be with them all the time) Hadrat used to say that if a person has a query pertaining to matters of Deen then ask such Ulema that have Zikr with their knowledge as well. Secondly, remain in the company of the elderly as such a person will gain experience quickly. Thirdly, mix with the wise people (i.e. the friends of Allah). It is only possible in this way to pass this road (to reach Allah Jalla Jala Laho), sometimes exercise patience with the heart and sometimes be grateful. Sabr here means that a person should restrain himself when having the desire to sin. We understand Sabr as enduring some difficulty with patience. Express gratitude when you are blessed with the Taufeeq of doing good deeds as the ability of carrying out good deeds is only from Allah Jalla Jala Laho. This living in your pleasure and dying in your pleasure, this is my servitude O Rabb! This is your Fadhl (grace) upon me. To die in the happiness of Allah refers to killing the desire of Haraam. When we are commanded by Allah Jalla Jala Laho to carry out a certain act then fulfil the commands of Allah Jalla Jala Laho. Our attitude generally contradicts this couplet. We are dead at the time of Fajr (when we suppose to be alive and fulfil the command of Allah of performing Salaah). When we are confronted with temptation and supposed to die then we live.  When we live a life according to this couplet then servitude will come into a person. This is the way and trait of the lovers (of Allah Jalla Jala Laho), sometimes they are sobbing, sometimes they take a deep sorrowful sigh The lovers of Allah Jalla Jala Laho cry either because of their sins or due to acknowledging the great favours of Allah Jalla Jala Laho upon them. Sometimes there is a deep sigh from the inner recesses of the heart for the bounties of Allah Jalla Jala Laho. People with such attitude speed in the path of Allah Jalla Jala Laho. This is the very sign of the love of Allah, this is guarantee that one possesses the love of Allah Jalla Jala Laho. (What is the sign? It is explained in the next couplet) - Sometimes the Zikr of Allah is on the tongue and sometimes He is remembered in the heart. The sum total of my life, the support of my life, To live with the lovers of Allah Jalla Jala Laho, to die with the lovers of Allah At the end of one’s life he adds up all his assets, or whilst living a person draws up a balance sheet. The sum total and support of my life is to live with the lovers of Allah Jalla Jala Laho and to die with the lovers of Allah Jalla Jala Laho.  Hadrat Abu Bakr Radhiallahu Anhu used to say, “I love to sit before you (O Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam), look at your (blessed) face and spend my wealth on you.  مجھے کچھ خبر نہیں تھی ترا درد کیا ہے یا رب      ترے عاشقوں سے سیکھا ترے سنگ در پہ مرنا I had no idea as to what your love was O Allah! We learnt from your lovers how to give our lives at your threshold Giving one’s life for Allah Jalla Jala Laho was taught to us by the Sahaaba Radhiallahu Anhuma. On the occasion of the battle of Uhud seventy Sahaaba Radhiallahu Anhuma had given their lives. They had written the love of Allah with the blood of their body.    یہ تری  عنایتیں ہیں یہ تری مدد کا صدقہ     مری جان ناتواں کا ترے غم پے صبر کرنا These are all Your gifts, this is Your help (that we are aware of the love of Allah), this is my useless body that is excising patience on Your love The example of this is the love that Majnoo had for Laila yet she did not even care about him. Allah Jalla Jala Laho cannot be seen by us, therefore we don’t know whether Allah Jalla Jala Laho loves us or not even though we hope that He loves us. We are therefore taught a Dua in the Hadith, لك العتبى حتى ترضى We will keep pleading with You until You are pleased. Had we known that Allah Jalla Jala Laho loves us we would have taken it for granted. A person appreciates his wife before marriage but the moment he marries her, he knows that she belongs to him and takes it for granted. He even starts looking at other women. This is the nature of man. Not knowing whether Allah Jalla Jala Laho loves us or not is a gift of Allah upon us.      یہ تری عطا ہے یا رب یہ ہے تیرا جذب پنہاں         مرا نالہ ندامت  ترے سنگ در پہ کرنا This is Your gift O Rabb, This is Your concealed pull, to pour out my regret at Your threshold The concealed pull of Allah Jalla Jala Laho is similar to a remote control that is pressed and the garage door open. You cannot see the connection between the remote and the motor, similar is the pull of Allah Jalla Jala Laho. Coming for the Majlis or going for one’s five times Salaah to the Masjid is the pull of Allah Jalla Jala Laho. Sometimes a person regrets on how he had wasted his life and starts crying as people attain piety at the end of their life.          مرا ہر خطا پہ رونا ہے یہی مری تلافی      تری رحمتوں کا صدقہ مرا جرم عفو کرنا To cry upon every error of mine, this is my compensation, it is because of Your mercy You forgive my sins.   تری شان جذب ہے یہ تری بندہ پروری ہے مرے جان ودل کا تجھ کو ہمہ وقت یاد کرنا This is Your great quality of pulling us towards You, and nurturing us, with my life and heart we will remember You at all times    کسی اہل دل کی صحبت جو ملی کسی کو اختر         اسے آگیا ہے جینا اسے آگیا ہے مرنا If anyone got the companionship of any Ahle-Dil O Akhtar! He has learnt how to live and die. The love of Allah Jalla Jala Laho will come by remaining in the company of Ahlullah. This fire doesn’t light but it is lit.

Lack of family responsibility, Turn to Allah

Condition My husband left to go in Jamaat, Alhumdullilah he left on Thursday to go to the Itjimah and he is going for 40 days.    I don’t have a problem with him going in the path of Allah Ta’ala. I am very hurt because he knows he is going but he has not made the necessary arrangements for transport for my son and I. When I asked him, he says there I go again. We very isolated here and he knows that I asked him to leave the car and make alternate arrangements for himself.  He says he wants to go in his car because if someone gets on his nerves he can just get into his car and come home. Yesterday, my son nearly missed Jummah waiting for his brother to come from work to give him a lift. Last night I had to phone around for a lift for him. I am worried in this place they don't have Hufaaz to read, only when my husband is here he reads. I messaged him that it's a problem, he says when I give you money and airtime then you start with me. Maaf I am giving Hazrat a full relay of the issue,  Hazrat can guide me to what's the best way to handle this issue. His very violent, aggressive even the night before he left he was swearing. Please make me maaf for the taqleef. Please, I humbly ask forgiveness for burdening Hazrat with this problem. His been in Jamaat many times before,  4 months, etc, but his character is putrid. Hazratjee please make Dua for me and my family with salaams and Dua's, request Hazrat’s  pious Dua's Answer Your husband is gone in Jamaat and left you with these problems; but your Allaah Ta’ala  has not gone anywhere, He is with you, and He has not given you any problems; in fact, He will solve all your problems! So, just turn to Him fully, and just be engaged with Him! Be busy with your Ibaadaat, Duas, etc. By this all your problems will be solved and you will live happily!

Beg of Allah Ta'ala for himself

If questioned by any one, what my supplication is, I supplicate from Allah, only Himself That I become His, and that he becomes mine, Is my supplication night and day. That He grant me love for Him, I supplicate with no more say. Whose discontent, for me goes beyond that “Infernal Abyss” The pleasure of that being is my only desire, my bliss. Truly, this world, of my desires constitutes of naught Constant is that “Place of reward” from me being sought.   We should always beg of Allah Ta’ala to fulfil our needs. The example of a person that begs people to fulfil their needs is like the president of a country that steals a few tomatoes or potatoes from a street vendor. A president is a highly paid personality thus it is a sign of total humiliation if he steals a few tomatoes from street vendor. We are all beggars In the Quraan Sharif Allah Ta’ala states, O people! You are all beggars before Allaah (dependant on Him for everything) and (Only) Allaah is Independent (not in need of anyone or anything), Most Worthy of praise.   Due to the fact that we are beggars, Allah Ta’ala has given us our begging bowls which are attached to a person. Whenever a person has a need, he raises these begging bowls and beg before Allah Ta’ala to fulfil his needs. If a person abuses these begging bowls by stealing then the hand of such a person is cut off. If he further continues with his evil act of stealing after losing one hand then Shariah commands that his other hand is also severed. A person may ask for Allah Ta’ala to fulfil his worldly needs but even greater is that a person asks for Allah Ta’ala. In the above poem the poet says, کوئی مجھ سے  پوچھے میں کیا مانگتا ہوں میں اپنے خدا سے خدا مانگتا ہوں “If anyone asks me as to what am I begging for, (then I will say) I am begging Allah Ta’ala for Himself.” Dua of Hadrat Maulana Rasheed Ahmad Gangohi R.A Hadrat Maulana Rasheed Ahmad Saheb Gangohi R.A used to make the following Dua, O Allah! Become ours and make us yours A person is generally effected by the company that he adopts. A person that mixes with Shias is affected by their ideologies and customs. Similarly a child that attends Christian schools is affected by the Christian belief, ideologies, customs, without even realising it. If one has a friend that is always involved in sports then one is affected by such a person as well. Such people have an Islam that is mixed with other customs and ideologies. This can be understood from the example of a person that lives in a jungle and is accustomed to drinking the polluted well water of the jungle. If someone gives him pure crystal water to drink then will he only know the status of the well water of the jungle. Enjoyment attained in pleasing Allah Ta’ala When a person abstains from sins then he enjoys the Ibaadat of Allah Ta’ala. A person will comment by saying, “I had thoroughly enjoyed my Umrah or I had thoroughly enjoyed the time in Jamaat or in the Khanqah.” This is the outcome of abstaining from sins. When a person once again returns to work and indulges in sin then the enjoyment is snatched away from a person. Similarly if a person becomes purely Allah’s then the enjoyment and pleasure of Jannat is enjoyed in this very world. Therefore in this poem a person is making Dua for Allah Ta’ala. However a person has to make effort as well. At the same time the poet says that the displeasure of Allah Ta’ala is worse than Jahannam and to attain the pleasure of Allah is superior and far greater than the pleasures of Jannat. This can be understood from an example, if a person invites you to his house and the table is laid out with various delicacies but the owner of the house (the host) is displeased with you then you will not enjoy the food if you are a person that possesses self-honour and respect, but if you a base person then you will eat without considering the feelings of the host. Similarly, if a person possesses all the bounties of the world such as having the best house, the latest car, a booming business but Allah Ta’ala is displeased then of what benefit and enjoyment are all these things. Beg Allah Ta’ala of His happiness No matter how much of Ibaadat a person makes we do not know if Allah Ta’ala is pleased with us therefore one should supplicate in the following words, We beg of You until You are pleased O Allah, all praise is due to You for giving me the ability to move and I confess of my sins Therefore we should always make Shukr to Allah Ta’ala for all His bounties that He has favoured us with. Finally the poet says I have no desire for Dunya, I desire to be forgiven on the day of Qiyaamah. May Allah Ta’ala make us all his beloved and close ones. Ameen!

The sign which indicate Allah has opened one's heart for Islam

In the Quraan Sharif Allah Ta'ala states, Or the person whose heart has opened to Islam, because of which he is upon a light from his Rabb  If Islam enters into a person, this shows that Allah Ta'ala has opened the heart of a person, and the Noor of Allah has entered him. In our understanding, Noor refers to a person whose complexion is light.  However, the explanation of this Noor has been made in the following manner, Disinclination from the house of deception And inclination towards the house of eternity And preparation for death before death descends (upon a person). The world is a place of deception. A person that is a recipient of this Noor will disincline from the world. If a rep of a certain company came to our business and sold us a certain item, but then delivered something that is contrary to that which was presented to us, we will never tolerate such a rep in our business again. In the Quraan Sharif, Allah Ta'ala states, The life of this world is merely an enjoyment of deception. In the Hadith Sharif, Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam is reported to have said, The Dunya (world) is cursed, and the contents of the world is cursed except the Zikr of Allah Ta'ala and that which assists in it, and a Alim or a student. Dunya refers to all such things that make one negligent of the remembrance of Allah Ta'ala. A home in which recitation of Quraan doesn’t take place, nor does any Zikr take place, etc. is regarded as Dunya. So the first sign is that a person which disincline from the world. Our Sheikh R.A says, “When a person is fired from the Dunya, he will not waste his time, or sleep throughout the day, he will now get employed for Aakhirat.” He will now go in the path of Allah Ta'ala, become punctual with his Tahajjud Salaah, etc. This is the second sign that Noor of Islam has entered his bosom. Thirdly, he will prepare for death before death approaches. This does not mean that a person does not care about his family any longer, he has no interest in his children’s education, or he does not spend any time with his children. In spite of being involved in all these activities, he is concerned of his hereafter and prepares for death. The harm of not remembering Allah. The Quraan Sharif is such a Kitaab that it has shown us the solution to every problem. If a person is deprived of this Noor, what is the reason? The Quraan Sharif explains, Destruction be for those whose hearts have hardened against Allah’s remembrance. These people are clearly misled. The Zikr of Allah Ta'ala and recitation of the Quraan Sharif has a great effect in softening the heart. If a person is neglectful of the Zikr of Allah Ta'ala, then the heart of a person will harden, and such people will be misguided. Effect of Zikrullah Maulana Ahmed Ali Lahori rwas invited to a certain place where the Qadianis were making a lot of effort. He recited Surah Yaseen and this had such an impact on their hearts that they all returned to Islam and the correct path. In those days, recitation of the Quraan Sharif would last for an hour, then Zikrullah would take place for half an hour, and finally the lecture would be delivered. The lecture would continue throughout the night and end at Fajr time. Nowadays, a few verses of the Quraan Sharif are recited prior to the lecture as a mere formality. When Quraan Sharif is recited with feeling, then the effect of it can be felt. When a person recites Quraan Sharif, recitation should take place with three intentions,   As an Ibadaah (act of worship). Allah c commands Rasulullah g to recite Quraan Sharif, Recite the book which has been revealed to you and establish Salaah.   For Reward. A person that recites a single letter of the Quraan Sharif gets ten rewards. If he recites a single letter in the state of Wudhu, he will receive twenty five rewards. If he recites in Nafl Salaah whilst sitting, he will receive fifty reward and if he recites in Nafl Salaah whilst standing, he will receive hundred rewards.   For Hidayat (guidance) as the Quraan is guidance for mankind.   Also, a Hafiz-Ul-Quraan should recite the Quraan Sharif to remember his Quraan.   Status of the Quraan Sharif Also, everything in the world is Makhlooq (created), but the Quraan is the Sifat (quality) of Allah Ta'ala. The easiest way of gaining the closeness of Allah Ta'ala is by means of the Quraan Sharif. Categories of the Zaakireen There are different categories of Zaakireen. 1.There are those Zaakireen that only make Zikrullah when it suites them. When others are involved in Zikrullah they will also join in the zikr. In the Quraan, Allah Ta'ala  refer to the Munafiqeen as such people that remember Allah Ta'ala very little. And they remember Allah Ta'ala very little. 2. There are those that are the sincere believers. They remember Allah Ta'ala abundantly as mentioned in the Quraan, O you who have Imaan! Remember Allah in abundance (at all times…) And glorify Him morning and evening. How can a person become A Zaakir? In the next verse Allah Ta'ala states, Allah c has revealed the most superb articulation, a book with subject matter of similar import which is often repeated. The bodies of those who fear their Rabb shiver with it, after which their hearts and bodies soften to Allah’s remembrance. This is Allah’s guidance, with which he guides whoever He wills. There can be no guide for the one whom Allah sends astray. By means of the Quraan Sharif, a person’s heart will incline towards the Zikr of Allah. A person should also beg and make Dua to Allah Ta'ala to guide him as Allah Ta'ala guides whoever he wishes to. May Allah Ta'ala give us the Taufeeq of making Amal! Ameen!

An easy way to become a favourite of Allâh Ta’ala

It is narrated in a Hadîth that by doing some nafl (optional) acts a person becomes the favourite of Allâh Ta’ala.  What better optional acts can there be than those encouraged  in the Hadîth? AWWAABEEN SALÂH It is narrated that a person who performs 6 Rak’ats after the Fardh of Maghrib Salâh, it will be Awwaabeen.  The whole Ummah performs 2 Sunnah and 2 Nafl after the Fardh of Maghrib, so 4 Rak’ats we are already performing, we just have to add another 2 and we will have performed our 6 (the minimum) of Awwaabeen.  1)      A person who performs Awwabeen gets the reward of 12 years of Ibâdah. 2)       A person who performs Awwaabeen, his sins are forgiven even if they are equal to all the foam of all the seas of the world. 3)      Awwaabeen is another name for Tawwaabeen i.e. those who make a lot of Taubah and Allâh Ta’ala loves those people who make taubah in abundance.  A person who makes taubah from his sins is like a person who has committed no sin. TAHJJAUD SALÂH This Salâh is the most virtuous and the easiest of all optional Salâh. Shaytân has deceived us into thinking that it is impossible for us to manage Tahajjud, to deprive us of this great good! It is narrated in a Hadîth that all Nafl that is performed after Isha Salâh (which is the 4 Fardh of Isha and the 2 Sunnat-e-Muakkadah) is Tahajjud.  Allamah Shaami RA has declared on the basis of this Hadîth that all Nafl Salâh after Isha, even before sleeping and even before the middle of the night is Tahajjud Salâh.  So after performing Isha Salâh – 4 Fardh and 2 Sunnat-e-Muakkadah- just by performing 2 Rak’ats, even sitting, Tahajjud will have been performed!!! There are 4 great virtues narrated in the Hadîth for Tahajjud: 1)      It is the way of the pious 2)      You become a favourite of Allâh Ta’ala 3)      Sins are forgiven 4)      It is the power house to do good and abstain from wrong By performing Tahajjud, a person gets the namaaz duas of the whole world’s namaaz’s (even if he is your enemy) i.e. every namaazi says in his namaaz “peace be upon us and all righteous slaves of Allâh Ta’ala” – by performing even just 2 Rak’ats of Tahajjud Salâh, even straight after Isha, one is amongst the righteous, thereby qualifying for the dua of all the namaaz’s of the world.   ISHRAAQ SALÂH Every person dose Tilawah of the Qur’an, makes zikr, reads wazifahs, duas, etc.  After Fajr, Ishraaq time comes in after about 13/15 minutes after sunrise.  The minimum Rak’ats of Ishraaq are 2.  Even if a person engages in some dunya’s work (e.g. sleeps, etc) and then he performs Ishraaq, his Ishraaq will be made though the Thawaab will be less.  1)      Ishraaq is more superior than spending all the gold, silver etc., of the world in the path of Allâh Ta’ala. 2)      By performing Ishraaq Salâh one gets the reward of performing Hajj and Umrah 3)      All one’s needs of the day will be fulfilled. CHASHT (DHUHA) SALÂH The time of Chasht starts immediately after one has completed his Ishraaq Salâh and lasts till midday.  Thus, once a person has completed his Ishraaq Salâh, he can perform his Chasht; he will be having wudhu still and will be in the Masjid/on the Musallah.  Chasht Salâh is the sadaqah of all the joints of the body.  To save oneself, or those already suffering from gout, arthritis, etc., one should perform Chasht Salâh, but the intention should be for the pleasure of Allâh Ta’ala – this benefit will be a by-product – it should not be the object. In Nafl Salâh, one will get the reward of as many intentions as one makes. Therefore, one can make the Niyah of Salatut-Taubah, Salaatul-Hajah, Salaatus-Shukr, Salaatul-Istikhaarah, Salaatul Awwabeen/Tahajjud/Dhuha/ (whichever Salâh is being performed) Salaatus-Safr, Tahiyyatul Wudhu, Tahiyyatul Masjid (if applicable) – Eemaanau wa Ihtisaaba. Also, make the niyah to pass the thawaab to Nabi Karim صلى الله عليه و سلم, the wives, children, family, Sahabah, Tabi-een, Tabe Tabi-een, Ulema and Mashaaikh of the Ummah, Mujahideen, Shuhadah, all the favourites of Allâh Ta’ala, one’s parents, family, all the Marhum, friends, associates, students, asaatizah, mashaaikh and those whose favours are upon one, helpers, the whole Ummah and all the Muslims.

Acquiring the Love of Allah

Hadrat Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanwi (R.A) has written that obtaining the love of Allah Ta’ala is not within one’s control but adopting the various means which will assist one in acquiring the love of Allah Ta’ala is within one’s control.  We should do that which is within our ability and leave the remainder to Allah Ta’ala.    There are 5 actions that will assist one in acquiring the love of Allah Ta’ala. Engage in the Zikr (remembrance) of Allah Ta’ala excessively. Hadrat Maulana Abdul Hamid Saheb (DB) mentions, “when the Zikr of Allah is omitted then the soul suffers from starvation”.Continuously contemplate over the bounties of Allah Ta’ala upon us and the manner in which we deal with our Creator.Establish a relationship with a friend of Allah Ta’ala (Allah wala).Constantly obey the commands of Allah Ta’ala.Beseech Allah Ta’ala to bless us with his love.                                                  (Tarbiyatus-Saalik pg.214 Vol.1)   Hadrat Maulana Abdul Hamid Saheb (D.B) explains, “if a person continuously makes an effort to acquire the love of Allah Ta’ala yet does not attain his goal, he will be included amongst the lovers of Allah Ta’ala on the day of Qiyamah.   There are many such examples in our Deen.    A person undertakes a journey to perform Haj but passes away whilst travelling to Makkah Mukarrama then  he will receive the reward of performing Haj and an angel will be appointed to perform Haj on behalf of this person every year till the day of Qiyamah.   A student commenced memorising the Quraan but passes away whilst committing the Quraan to memory, such a student will be raised amongst the Huffaz on the day of Qiyamah.       Similarly, in acquiring the love of Allah Ta’ala one should continue striving until he meets his creator.
