Incident of forgiveness

Posted On Mon, 03/08/2026 - 11:45
Once Nabi Eesa (Alayhis salaam) was passing a grave and he saw the inmate of the grave was being punished. After a few days he passed that way again and found that the punishment had been lifted from the inmate of the grave and he was in peace. He enquired from Allah Ta'ala thus, “O Generous Master, through which action of this servant did you remove his punishment?”

Allah Ta'ala replied, “O Eesa, at the time of his death he had a child. When this child grew up, his mother took him to Madrasah and he recited Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem in the presence of the Ustaad. It is against My status that the child calls Rahmaan and Raheem in this world and I should punish his father. That is why I have lifted his punishment.” (Virtues of Bismillah page15)

From here we can gauge and understand the great virtue of imparting Deeni knowledge to our children.
