Hadrat Abdullah ibn Amr ibn Al-Aas Radiallahu Anhu narrates that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “Successful is the one who accepted Islam and has been given sufficient Rizq (according to his need), and Allah Ta’ala has given him contentment on those things that he has bestowed him with.”

The meaning of contentment is that a person is pleased with the distribution of Allah Ta’ala. If a person is not content, then the greed of wealth will not allow one to prepare for the Aakhirat. The importance of the great bounty of contentment can be understood from the above Hadith.

In one poem Maulana Rumi Rahmatullah-e-Alayh says, “The eyes of a greedy person was never filled and as long as the oyster is not content (i.e. it does not close its mouth of greed a pearl is not formed in it.)

In the above mentioned Hadith, after the bounty of Islam the Ummat has been taught that a person will only be freed from his occupation when he has the quality of contentment. This free time is then used in preparation of the Aakhirah and thus becomes a means of success of the Aakhirat.
