Duaas after the Adhaan

1. After the adhaan, one should recite salaat (durood) upon
Sayyiduna Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) and thereafter recite the
following dua:
اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ هٰذِهِ الدَّعْوَةِ التَّامَّةِ وَالصَّلَاةِ الْقَائِمَةِ آتِ مُحَمَّدًانِ الْوَسِيلَةَ وَالْفَضِيلَةَ وَابْعَثْهُ مَقَامًا مَحْمُودًانِ الَّذِي وَعَدْتَهُ إِنَّكَ لَا تُخْلِفُ الْمِيعَادَ
O Allah, Rabb of this perfect call and of the established
salaah, bestow upon Sayyiduna Muhammad (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) the
‘waseelah’ (an extremely high stage in Jannah) and ‘fadheelah’ (a
lofty position that is above all the creation), and grant him the
“Maqaam Mahmood” (i.e the honour of interceding to Allah Ta'ala to commence the reckoning for the entire creation on the
Day of Qiyaamah) which You have promised him, indeed You do
not go against Your promise.
2. After reciting the dua after adhaan, the following dua should
also be recited:
أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ رَضِيتُ بِاللهِ رَبًّا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولًا وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا
I bear testimony that there is no deity except Allah Ta'ala who is alone and has no partner, and that Sayyiduna Muhammad (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) is His servant and messenger. I am pleased with Allah as my Rabb, Sayyiduna Muhammad (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) as a
messenger of Allah and Islam as my religion.
Note: This dua should be recited during the adhaan, after the
muadhin calls out the shahaadatain as well
as after the adhaan.
The following duas of adhaan may also be recited:
َ
اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ هٰذِهِ الدَّعْوَةِ التَّامَّةِ وَالصَّلَاةِ الْقَائِمَةِ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَأَعْطِهِ سُؤْلَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ
O Allah! Rabb of this perfect call and established salaah!
Send salutations upon Sayyiduna Muhammad (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) (shower
Your mercy upon him) and grant him his request (of interceding for
all the creation) on the Day of Qiyaamah. َ
اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ هٰذِهِ الدَّعْوَةِ التَّامَّةِ وَالصَّلَاةِ الْقَائِمَةِ صَلِّ عَلَى عَبْدِكَ وَرَسُولِكَ وَاجْعَلْنَا فِي شَفَاعَتِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ
O Allah! Rabb of this perfect call and established salaah!
Send salutations upon Your slave and Your Rasul (shower Your mercy upon him), and make us among those who will
receive his intercession on the Day of Qiyaamah.
اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ هٰذِهِ الدَّعْوَةِ الْقَائِمَةِ وَالصَّلَاةِ النَّافِعَةِ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَارْضَ عَنِّي رِضَاءً لَا سَخَطَ بَعْدَهُ
O Allah! Rabb of this established call and beneficial salaah!
Send salutations (shower Your mercy) upon Sayyiduna
Muhammad and grant me Your pleasure after which
You will never be displeased with me.
It is reported in the Hadith that if one recites the above dua
and thereafter makes dua to Allah Ta'ala, his dua will be
accepted.
