The heavens envy the earth!

Generally the earth envies the heavens due to two reasons:

1. The heavens are high and enjoy a lofty status whereas the earth is low and trampled upon.

2. No sins are committed in the sky but committed on earth.

Notwithstanding the above, the heavens still envy the earth when a servant of Allah Ta'ala cries and repents before Allah Ta'ala. When a servant of Allah Ta'ala is imbued with the love of Allah Ta'ala, then such a person is blessed with the ability of crying and sobbing before his creator for the sins committed.

How valuable are these tears?

Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam is reported to have said that sobbing before Allah Ta'ala is more beloved to Allah Ta'ala than the Tasbeeh of those that glorify Allah Ta'ala. When a prodigal son returns, then he is given V.I.P treatment. Similarly a person that has turned away from Allah Ta'ala by indulging in sin and disobedience becomes the beloved of Allah Ta'ala by repenting.

When Allah Ta'ala decides to send a punishment upon a certain nation, Allah Ta'ala does not retract from His decision. However, Allah Ta'ala had removed the punishment from the people of Yunus Alaihis Salaam even though the signs of punishment had become apparent in the heavens. This retraction was due to the crying of a baby. This explicitly indicates that crying and sobbing before Allah Ta'ala holds tremendous value. The oceans cannot extinguish the fire of Jahannam, but the tears of a person that turns in repentance to Allah Ta'ala is sufficient to extinguish the flames of Jahannam.

A LITTLE BOY THAT WAS SELLING SWEETMEATS!

A pious person use to take loans from various people to fulfil his monthly needs. When he had fallen ill, the creditors had arrived to claim their monies. The pious person told them to sit down and their monies will be paid out. Whilst waiting a little boy passed by, who was selling sweetmeats so the pious person purchased all the sweetmeats and distributed the sweetmeats amongst the creditors. The boy was also instructed to join the queue. The little began crying as he feared his mother. Just then a person appeared with a bag of money which was used to pay all the creditors and the young boy. The pious person was asked to explain this scenario? The pious person said, The various creditors begged and requested their dues, however none of them had cried. When the little boy cried, the mercy of Allah Ta'ala came to fore, thus a wealthy person brought the money.

By crying and sobbing before Allah Ta'ala, one is blessed with unlimited favours from Allah Ta'ala. It is due to these individuals that repent the heavens envy the earth.
