Hadrat Abu Hurairah R.A. narrates that Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam is reported to have said, “In regards to the blessed month of Ramdaan, my Ummat was blessed with five such things which the previous Ummats were not blessed with.”

1. The stench given off from the mouth of the fasting person is sweeter than musk in the sight of Allah Ta’ala.

2.  The fish in the ocean make Dua for the fasting person up until the time of Iftaar.

3. Jannat is decorated daily for the fasting person. Allah Ta’ala says, “The time is close that my close servants will leave the difficulties of the world and come to you.”

4.  The rebellious Shayaateen are chained so that they are unable to reach those forms of evil which they would reach in other than Ramdaan.

5. On the last night of Ramdaan the fasting people are forgiven. The Sahaaba enquired, “Is this the night of forgiveness regarded as Shab-e-Qadr?” He replied, “No! The custom/rule is that upon completion of one’s work the employee is paid.”
