Building without a need

حدثنا محمد بن حميد الرازي حدثنا زافر بن سليمان عن إسرائيل عن شيب بن بشير هكذا قال شبيب بن بشير وإنما هو شبيب بن بشير عن أنس ابن مالك قال : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم النفقة كلها في سبيل الله إلا البناء فلا خير فيه


Hadrat Anas Radiallahu Anhu narrates that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam is reported to have said, “All forms of expenditure is equal to spending in the path of Allah except the money spent on building homes and buildings (without necessity). There isn’t any virtue and reward in it.





When building a house most of the people are not content with the basic necessities but a person expands on his building due to pride and fame; therefore there is a warning for such extravagance in the Hadith.
