A BENEFICIAL DU'A DURING RAMADAN
Submitted by Mohammed Gilani on
Rasûlullâh (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) exhorted the Sahâbah (Radiyallahu anhum) that in this month you should endeavour to do four things in great number, two of which shall be to please your Rabb, while the other two shall be of those which you cannot do without. Those two which shall be to please your Rabb are that you should bear witness that there is non worthy of worship except Allâh excessively (ash-hadu allâ ilaha illallah), and engage in excessive istighfar (beg Allah's forgiveness by reciting astaghfirullâh). As for those two without which you cannot do, you should beg Allâh for entry into Jannah (paradise) and seek refuge with Him from the fire of Jahannam (hell). (Ibn Khuzaimah)
Here follows a simple du'â that encompasses all the above four things:
لا إِلهَ إِلَّا اللهُ نَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَ نَسئلُكَ جَنَّةَ الْفِرْدَوْسِ وَ نَعُوْذُبِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ
Lâ ilaha illallâh, nstaghfiruka wa nas aluka Jannatal firdous wa na'ûthu bika minan nâr
Let us make our Ramadân valuable by reciting the above mentioned du'â abundantly and save ourselves from unnecessary, useless and idle talks thereby spoiling our Ramadân.
